Hello,
I was away from this list for more than half a year. I had no computer
there, where I lived so I could not check.
I started work on the ARexx homepage about 3/4 year ago, along with some
other nice guys here from the mailing-list.
Now, that I am back, I continue work on it.
Tom, does the ARexx Home Page List still exist ? You did not answer my last
mail. Did you get it ?
I will mak an announcement as soon as I have ready a pre-release.
I would like to know about http://www.arexx.com. The URI is nice, could it
be routed to owl.net ? Is it usefull ? What about www.arexx.org ? This would
be best IMO.
The ARexx homepage will consist of links to al known ARexx extensions (such
as libs, GUI toolkits, development aids, docs, and such) a FAQ, access to
manuals (if host allows serious CGI), index of scripts, links to scripts,
web-directory for ARexx coders/users, Workshops.
I would like to set up some sort of (SQL ?) database to archive and index
mailing-list contents (should it move to majordomo), and cross-connect these
with scripts, manuals. At the end, it would enable the visitor to form his
question on the web-site and get answers from all available info.
For this we would need a serious CGI permission. An mSQL server would be
nice as well. Then, we would need the permission of the authors of the
several documentations to include them online. Alfonso ? ;-)) (You are a
major candidate, you have written so many libs, that your docs are high on
top)
Imagine: A cross-reference made out of mailing-list archive, documents,
scripts.
Anyways, this is just third stage. First stage will be to put a vanilla site
up and running.
